JACKIE BUSCI

Jackie Bucsi is life-long Owosso resident.  Jackie is the Vice President of Membership for the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan Council.  She has been employed by the Girl Scouts for approximately 20 years, the first ten being with Girl Scouts Fair Winds Council in Flint.  When Girl Scouts of the USA merged over 300 Girl Scout Councils into 112 Councils in 2008, she became employed with the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Council, where she served as Chief Membership and Program Officer.  Jackie was with Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan for nine years, until August of 2017. She also served as the Executive Director of the Arc Shiawassee from 2000-2001.

Jackie is married to Jerry Bucsi, who is the owner/head barista and sandwich and soup maker at Guidos Coffee and Deli in Owosso.  Jackie is proud of her two grown children, both of whom are married. Jackie also has two grandchildren.

She received her BSA in Business Administration in 1997 (with highest honors) from Baker College. Jackie is a graduate of Leadership Shiawassee.  She has worked with youth through Girl Scouts, her church, and volunteered with Junior Achievement, Rotary (Youth Exchange Officer and Interact Advisor) and helping at local schools and with Mock Interviews for Shiawassee Intermediate School District and North Branch Community Schools.  She was a member of AAUW and the Owosso Rotary Club.

Jackie first learned about Shiawassee Hope when she volunteered for the Walls of Warmth program.  Though she knew that there were huge pockets of poverty in Shiawassee County because of the work that she did, Jackie did not realize that homelessness was an issue.  Jackie is grateful to be able to give back to her community through her service on the board of Shiawasse Hope.
